Field Trip to Celery Fields

March 11 @ 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Free

Join Kathy Doddridge on a guided bird walk through Celery Fields.

Guided Bird walks to identify species and discuss the importance of bird conservation and protection. The location of the site, the large number of diverse bird species, and its public ownership by Sarasota County make the Celery Fields an ideal location for wildlife watching and passive recreational use.

Everyone is welcome to attend walks.

When going bird watching it is important to be well-prepared and comfortable. Here is a checklist of what to bring and wear:

  • Wear comfortable shoes since there will be walking
  • Hat to shield you from the sun and reduce glare
  • Binoculars for close up view of birds.
  • Field guide, eBird & Merlin apps are helpful in bird identification – your guides will help
  • Water to stay hydrated
  • Sunscreen and Insect Repellant

Meet in the parking lot outside Nature Center.
