Field Trip to Terra Ceia Preserve State Park – Hightower Trail

Join Billie & Jerry Knight on a guided bird walk through Terra Ceia Preserve State Park – Hightower Trail. 

Native and migrating birds take shelter in the lush forests along the trails. You may see little blue herons, white ibis, or even a bald eagle soaring above you. Keep a watchful eye for roseate spoonbills wading in the shallows.

Everyone is welcome to attend walks. 

When going bird watching it is important to be well-prepared and comfortable. Here is a checklist of what to bring and wear: 

• Wear comfortable shoes since there will be walking
• Hat to shield you from the sun and reduce glare
• Binoculars for close up view of birds. 
• Field guide, eBird & Merlin apps are helpful in bird identification – your guides will help 
• Water to stay hydrated
• Sunscreen and Insect Repellant 

Right onto Terra Ceia Rd 1/2 mile, take a left onto Hightower Rd) Meet @ the end of Hightower Road.
