Reinier Munguia will be joining us again to take us on a journey to learn about Neotropical Birds. Nothing is more challenging and rewarding than spotting colorful birds in the rainforest. People from all over flock to the tropics to glimpse on a variety of birds species found nowhere else in the world. From hummingbirds to guans and falcons, more than 90 families account for nearly 3,800 species of neotropical birds.
Add to these, the number of neotropical migrants that spend the winter in these tropical zones and you have endless birding opportunities. But the tropics are also in a constant change from weather related pressures to deforestation with many bird species being pushed to the limits of their existence. Neotropical zones were the origin of many bird species now inhabiting zones as far as Canada. Join us as we learn more about neotropical birds.
