****Cancelled****- Field Trip to Cockroach Bay Preserve State Park

April 6 @ 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Free

Join Lilian Saul on a guided bird walk through Cockroach Bay Preserve.

Due to habitat restoration efforts, this park has become an ideal place to do some birding. Year-round, varieties of native and migrating birds can be found soaring above and darting between trees. Fall through spring are the most active times of the year. During this time, sharp-shinned hawks, peregrine falcons and American Kestrels can be seen.

Everyone is welcome to attend walks.

When going bird watching it is important to be well-prepared and comfortable. Here is a checklist of what to bring and wear:

  • Wear comfortable shoes since there will be walking
  • Hat to shield you from the sun and reduce glare
  • Binoculars for close up view of birds.
  • Field guide, eBird & Merlin apps are helpful in bird identification – your guides will help
  • Water to stay hydrated
  • Sunscreen and Insect Repellant

Meet in the parking lot.
